Perryman Report Promotes Greater Use of Texas Nurses for Economic Gains and Improved Health Care Access

According to a report by noted economist Dr. Ray Perryman, more fully utilizing advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) in Texas would enhance efficiency, increase state economic output by $8 billion dollars annually, and create 97,205 permanent jobs resulting in $16.1 billion in total expenditures per year.

Foremost on the site is a video from Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and HRSA Administrator Dr. Mary Wakefield, discussing contributions that nurses make in keeping America healthy and how the work they do will be more important under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
