Abstract
Newly graduated nurses are finding the job market tight for them as they begin to compete with more experienced registered nurses (RNs) who have continued to work because of the economy. This is according to a California Institute for Nursing & Health Care paper. Positions typically available to new nurses are scarce because fewer nurses are retiring and many others continue to work part-time. This situation is only worsened due to cut backs on new hires by hospitals and health systems.
