Employers hiring BSN graduates or encouraging existing ADN's to bridge to BSN?

As demand for BSN trained nurses rises, are employers prepared to offer incentive to bring in new BSN graduates or will they be more apt to provide incentive for their existing work force to advance their training level? It seems that if the latter is more likely, productivity will decrease and costs will increase? im just curious to know if there is a trend that exists?

We currently see most of the facilities offering incentives for RNs to further their education. Most of the graduates in Wyoming start with an Associate's Degree, working for a while then pursuing a BSN. Most of the incentives for nurses to pursue higher education has been in place for years and will continue. Facilities in Wyoming have a preference for BSN graduates and try different programs to hire nurses already holding a BSN but with the rural nature of the state and only having one public 4 year college in the state the number of AD graduates vastly outnumber the amount of BSN graduates each year.
