Underserved Populations to Benefit From More Than $700M in HHS Award to Community Health Centers

The Washington Post reports that more than 745,000 underserved health care consumers will benefit from this latest round of funding made possible under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  The funds will be spent to either build new health clinics or make existing clinics technology-ready. Last year, close to19 million people were served by approximately 1,100 rural and urban health centers across the U.S. About 40 percent of those receiving health care had no insurance. Read more.
