CCNA’s Susan Reinhard Calls on Nurses to Join the Campaign to Transform Nursing and Health Care
The release of the IOM report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health, has given Susan Reinhard, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., senior vice president of the AARP Public Policy Institute and chief strategist of the Center to Champion Nursing in America, an new opportunity to “rally” nurses to work to build a stronger, more viable, workforce that can better meet the 21st century health care needs of all Americans. To do this Reinhard, along with Susan Hassmiller, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., and others, is encouraging nurses to build coalitions with other health professionals, business leaders and stakeholders in order to make the needed changes in how nurses are educated and practice their profession. She says, “Our goal is to capitalize on this momentum. We want to make sure everyone has a way to contribute.” Read more in this RWJF’s Sharing Nursing's Knowledge.
