Sue Hassmiller Receives CARE Award at Retail Education Clinician Congress

Susan Hassmiller, PhD, RN, FAAN, Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Initiative on the Future of Nursing, at the Institute of Medicine, is the recipient of the 2010 CARE Lifetime Achievement Award, presented during the third annual Retail Education Clinician Congress. Loretta Ford, the award’s namesake, praised Hassmiller for her accomplishments, most notably her leadership of the Initiative on the Future of Nursing. Ford said, “What Sue Hassmiller is doing through the IOM and RWJ Future of Nursing is no short of a miracle. The recommendations that will come out in the fall will revolutionize nursing and move us forward light years.”
