RWJF and AACN Announce “New Careers in Nursing” Program Scholarships Awards

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) recently announced that 63 schools of nursing are the recipients of the RWJF New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program (NCIN) scholarship awards. This year, 511 students entering accelerated programs for the 2010-2011 academic year will get scholarships of $10,000 each. The goal of the program is to help schools of nursing expand capacity in accelerated baccalaureate and master’s programs and build a more diverse nursing workforce that is better prepared to meet Americans’ changing health care needs. These programs are an efficient route to RN licensure and the pipeline for future nurse faculty. Read more here.
