Pam Cipriano is Institute of Medicine’s 2010 Nurse Scholar in Residence

Pamela F. Cipriano, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, will join the ranks of other luminaries, who work to advance the nursing profession’s role in achieving high quality health care. The program, which is supported by the American Academy of Nursing, the American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Foundation, and managed by the IOM, provides nurse scholars with a year-long opportunity to engage other nurse leaders in the development of health policies.

Cipriano, a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, currently serves as Special Advisor to the Chief Nursing Officer at the University of Virginia and as the Editor in Chief of American Nurse Today. On accepting the appointment, she said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to advance policy discussions around Health IT and nursing care. The experience at the IOM helps cultivate important relationships that will grow the network for future nurse leadership opportunities and appointments.”  Read more here.
