HRSA Division of Nursing Director Accepts New Position

Michele Richardson, RN, MS, former director of HRSA’s nursing division has accepted a new leadership position within its Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr). Richardson will serve as the senior advisor for National Workforce Diversity, responsible for developing and implementing BHPr’s health workforce diversity strategic plan and expanding recruitment efforts to increase the number of health care providers from diverse backgrounds. She has worked closely with the Center as a member of the Champion Nursing Council, and as resource for our Education Capacity Summits, providing information on HRSA nursing education funding opportunities and the state of nursing as it relates to building a diverse, culturally competent health care workforce.
