Nursing Champions Honored by Peers and Others
Six nursing champions, nominated by their peers, managers, students, and in some cases, patients, are the recipients of the 2010 Nursing Spectrum and NurseWeek National Nursing Excellence Awards. These individuals were selected to represent one of six categories: Advancing and Leading the Profession, Clinical Care, Community Service, Management, Mentoring, and Teaching. According to Eileen Williamson, RN, MSN, senior vice president, Nursing Communications & Initiatives, Gannett Healthcare Group, each winner exemplifies the highest level of commitment to personal caring and professional care. One of the winners, Patricia Gerrity, is director of the 11th Street Family Health Services, the subject of a CCNA video feature.
