Nurses are Helping Save Lives in Haiti

Through relief organizations such as the American Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders. as well as through military services such as the U.S. Navy’s hospital ship, Comfort, nurses are helping to save lives in Haiti in the wake of the January 11 earthquake that devastated Port Au Prince and surrounding communities. The American Nurses Association (ANA) also began coordinating efforts to help connect nurses to volunteer opportunities and prepare them with an online webinar about
the kinds of injuries they’ll likely encounter in Haiti.
We found a news story, datelined Port-Au-Prince, about nurses from with a Florida group called Hope for Haiti who are already on the ground and delivering much needed health care to earthquake victims.
We will continue posting stories we see; If you have a story of nurses providing aide in Haiti, please share it with us.
