Nurses’ Home Visits Give New Moms Much Needed Help
Since 1996, new mothers have taken advantage of the Nurse Family Partnership, a program designed to improve the health, well-being and self-sufficiency of low income, first-time mothers and their children. Thirty-one states currently offer the program in which nurses monitor and promote the health of both mother and child and they also give much needed advice on prenatal health and parenting.
