New HHS Strategy Promotes Quality Health Care, Streamlined System

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has announced a new strategy called the National Strategy for Quality Improvement in Health Care, the goal of which is to promote ways to improve patient outcomes, yet reduce burdensome duties for providers. This new strategy, required under the Affordable Care Act, encourages use of electronic health records and is viewed as way to increase patient safety. In announcing the new strategy, Sebelius said, “The Affordable Care Act sets America on a path toward a higher quality health care system so we stop doing things that don’t work for patients and start doing more of the things that do work.” Read more.
