One year after a report that found Florida would not be able to meet that state’s growing demand for nurses, the situation has not improved. That according to the Florida Center for Nursing’s Mary Lou Brunell. Adding to the issue of nurses retiring, the state’s shortage is also affected by the growing numbers of baby boomers demanding more health care as they age.

According to an article in the Examiner (published across the U.S.), "one major obstacle to increasing the supply of nurses is the inability to expand nursing education program due to the lack of qualified faculty and competitive wages for nurse educators."
