Champion Nursing Council
The Champion Nursing Council provides to CCNA advice and feedback from the nursing community. The Council members, who meet several times a year, work with Center leadership and staff on policy, communications, and other key issues to help us meet our shared goals.

- National League of Nursing (NLN) 2011 Education Summit - September 21-24, 2011
Location: Marriott World Center, Orlando, FL
Donna Shalala, a national health care policy leader, who chaired the committee of the Robert Wood Johnson Initiative on the Future of Nursing, at the Institute of Medicine, will be the featured speaker at this NLN conference.
- May 26 Convening: Stakeholders Map Out Strategies for Breaking Down Barriers to Nursing Practice. Learn more about this joint meeting of the Champion Nursing Council and the Champion Nursing Coalition, held in Washington, DC, May 26, 2011.
- Diane Mancino, EdD, RN, CAE, executive director of the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA), a strong supporter of professional development for undergraduate nursing students, has been named as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Read more.
- Cheryl G. Sullivan, MSES, named Chief Executive Officer of the American Academy of Nursing. Sullivan begins as CEO September 13, 2010.
- Paul W. Santoro, CRNA, MS, is new American Association of Nurse Anesthetists President. His term of office is 2010-2011.
