Ms. Akinwole serves as the web manager and publications coordinator. In this position she manages all aspects of web design, creation, and maintenance; and publications production. Prior to joining the Center, Ms. Akinwole was a program officer for management with the Space Studies Board (SSB) of the National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences, where she was responsible for the interpretation of, and compliance with, provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act as it related to the appointment of volunteers for the National Academy of Sciences advisory committees created under the SSB. In addition to these duties, Ms. Akinwole coordinated the Board’s outreach activities, managed the Board’s web presence (internal and external), compiled statistics on volunteer participation, and provided research assistance to staff as needed.

She has served as a reference/business services consultant in state government. She is a former president of the North Carolina Chapter of Special Libraries Association (NCSLA) and served on the board of directors of the North Carolina Library Association (NCLA). She has written articles for the journals of NCLA, NCSLA, and the national Special Libraries Association.

She holds the Master of Library Science degree and a Certificate of Accomplishment in Publishing and Editing.
