Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action | Action Coalitions
Action Coalitions are the driving force of the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, which envisions a health care system where all Americans have access to high-quality care, with nurses contributing to the full extent of their capabilities.
Action Coalitions are built to effect long-term sustainable change at the local, state and regional levels. Coalition members have banded together to implement the recommendations contained in the landmark Institute of Medicine report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health. As part of their activities, Action Coalitions will capture best practices, determine research needs, track lessons learned and identify replicable models.
Resources and Tools provided by RWJF and CCNA include:
- Planning tools and assistance, such as facilitated campaign planning, stakeholder assessment tools and grant writing, and assistance with securing funders.
- A tailored communications technical assistance program designed to boost Action Coalition communications efforts, facilitate sharing amongst coalitions, and to elevate best practices and successes to the national level.
- Information resources, such as issue briefs, topical webinars and access to a speakers bureau.
- Campaign resources, such as advocacy and media trainings, template media materials and links to CCNA’s Champion Nursing Coalition and Council, AARP leaders, AARP’s state office network and the RWJF grantee network.
- Sharing and exchange, such as regular, facilitated Action Coalition meetings and conference calls., an online collaborative workspace.
